• Virginia Sibanda – Chief Executive Officer

    She has over 25 years in banking and microfinance and was previously the Managing Director of one of the biggest MFIs in Zimbabwe before co-founding VIRL. She has an MBA and has attended Boulder Institute of Microfinance. She is a former vice Chairperson of Zimbabwe Association of Microfinance and Chaired the committee that looked at introducing the Credit Bureau to members of the Association.

    Farai has spent over a quarter of a century in the financial services sector, specialising in Corporate Communication, Marketing and Investor Relations. She is an alumnus of the British Council programme, “Tomorrow’s Leaders”.

  • LynnLynn Gwenzi – Credit Operations Manager

    Lynn has been involved in all aspects of Virl Microfinance since inception and has risen to become the Operations Manager and is responsible for rolling out the branch network. She holds a certificate in Credit Management obtained from the University of Zimbabwe and has worked in a banking environment for the past 15 years.

  • AbsolomAbsolom Mudyanadzo – Administration Manager

    Has worked for over 13 years in the Microfinance sector and has vast experience in Microfinance having worked has a loan officer for one of the largest MFIs in Zimbabwe. He has been with VIRL since inception. He holds a Diploma in Marketing from Harare Polytechnic and was trained by Vulindlela as a Loan Officer.

  • RufaroRufaro Mhaka – Administrator

    Rufaro has been with VIRL from the start and has over 8 years experience in managing an office environment and has obtained vast experience in Loan Performer which is the core system for VIRL.

  • rupereLoveless Rupere – Recoveries Manager

    Mr. Rupere joined VIRL Rural & Social Finances in 2015 as a Recoveries Manager. He manages Recovery Department and co-coordinates recovery activities of all branches. He has gained vast experience over time, he spent 25 years in the law Enforcement, has worked with United Nations International Policing (KOSOVO) also dealt with press and public relations. He was Group Security manager for Apex Corporation (Pvt) Ltd, and Security Officer for Mbada diamonds.

  • mpofuEvans Mpofu – Acting Finance Manager

    Evans holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) Banking and Finance with Bindura University of Science Education. He is also studying towards being a Chartered Secretary and Administrator with the Institute of Chartered Secretary and Administrators of Zimbabwe (ICSAZ). He was formerly with CMED (PVT) LTD. He joined VIRL Microfinance as a finance officer in February 2014. He was elevated to be the Acting finance manager in January 2016. His primary function is the production of financial analysis and financial reports for management.

    masochaLiberty Masocha – Manager

    Liberty Masocha graduated from Midlands State University (MSU) with a BCom. (Hons) Banking and Finance Degree. He is currently studying with Harare Institute of Technology for an Executive Diploma in Microfinance. He joined the company in December 2013, after having been on attachment at VIRL in 2012.Hehas worked as a loan officer gaining experience in originating and managing SMES business working capital loans, Small loans to micro enterprises and Agriculture financing to medium sized and large farmers. Liberty is the Green Performance Champion at VIRLlending mainly focused on monitoring green standards in protecting the environment as a Green MFI. Liberty was responsible for all operational functions of the Harare CBD and nearby outskirts cities including credit evaluation, documentation, greening issues at VIRL and portfolio management. Liberty was recently promoted to manager for Harare and Chitungwiza branches.

  • chakaraShingai Chakara – Internal Auditor

    Shingai is a holder of a Bachelor inAccounting Science (Bcompt) with the University of South Africa (UNISA), a Post graduate diploma in applied accounting with (UNISA) and a Zimbabwe Certificate Theory in Accounting (ZCTA) with ICAZ. He is currently studying for his final qualifying examinations with ICAZ.He was previously with Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants were he did his articles and has 4 years audit experience spanning banking,insurance,mining,real estate,construction,manufacturing, health,transport,retail and distribution.Shingai joined Virl in April 2016 and is responsible for the internal audit function which encompasses performing and controlling the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
